Dear Center Pointe,
Our 2020 Christmas Offering is approaching and I am very excited about our three initiatives this year! In the past we have seen incredible things accomplished through this season of generosity, and I anticipate this being the case this year as well!
Our Christmas Offering is a time for us to give beyond our regular tithes so that we might invest in three special initiatives: Global Missions, Local Compassion and Updates on our Building and Property! In response to the call to be present in our community, support global missions and to be faithful stewards of our resources, here are details for the three initiatives for 2020:
1) Our First Initiative will see 40% of The Christmas Offering dedicated to our ongoing partnership with the MesoAmerica Region. Over the last two years we have sent three teams to the Dominican Republic. We have worshiped, served and prayed alongside four different Nazarene Churches during this time and played a vital role in the establishment of the Center of Missionary Formation. We are excited to continue this partnership in 2021 and we are ready to stand alongside this effort with both people and financial resources! Please continue to pray for our missionaries on the ground in that region and for the ongoing work of God to be accomplished!
2) Our Second Initiative will see 40% of The Christmas Offering go towards establishing a Center Pointe Community Care Fund. This will be a faithful way to love and serve families in our community who find themselves in need of the practical realities of life – food, shelter, transportation and other essential financial assistance. May we be poised and ready to love our neighbors in tangible ways in the days ahead as we take I John 3: 17 seriously, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”
3) Our Third Initiative will see 20% of The Christmas Offering going toward exterior updates for our Building and Property which will include signage and improved/additional lighting. We praise the LORD for this space, through which much ministry happens, and we want to be the best stewards we can be of it.
Will you please be praying for The Christmas Offering between now and December 20th? God has blessed us significantly throughout this past year and I know he will guide us in discerning our own level of generous giving to these three initiatives on Sunday, December 20th!
